Tagungsorganisation als Geschäftsmodell - Teil 2
Was würden Sie davon halten, wenn Sie nicht nur als Redner zu einer wissenschaftlichen Tagung eingeladen würden, sondern sogleich auch noch im "Scientific Advisory Board" der Tagung mitarbeiten dürften? Das wäre doch eine verlockende Gelegenheit. Nähere Betrachtung der unten stehenden E-Mail ließ mich dann doch misstrauisch werden: Warum sollte ich ausgerechnet beim Themengebiet "Spectroscopy" mitarbeiten? Wie komme ich zu der Ehre?
Der Wissenschaftsjournalist Leonid Schneider beobachtet schon seit längerem die als Organisator dieser Tagung auftretende "International Association of Advanced Materials" (IAAM). Die Ergebnisse seiner Recherchen stellt er auf seiner Webseite "For Better Science" zusammen. Posts die die "IAAM" betreffen sind diese: Linköping University and Tiwari’s predatory conferences, Predatory conferences and other scams of false Swedish Professor Ashutosh Tiwari. Aus dem Gelesenen entnehme ich, dass Tagungen die von dieser Gesellschaft organisiert werden "Predatory Conferences" sind! Finger weg von diesen Tagungen, nehmen Sie nicht daran teil!
